Canadian Pacific’s 4-6-4 Hudson Class steam locomotive was once the pride of the fleet. In 2010, only two Hudson Class locomotives were in operating condition, and Elevation Media captured them both in action.

The Empress 2816

Known as Canadian Pacific’s ambassador, we follow 2816 on four different days through the rugged terrain of both British Columbia and Alberta in the summer of 2010. Watch as she travels through famous locations such as Rogers Pass, the Spiral Tunnels, Banf National Park, and much more! Also included in the program are highlights of her tour around British Columbia’s Lower Mainland in 2008.

The Royal Hudson 2860

Operated by the West Coast Railway Association, we capture 2860 on three different occasions in the winter months of 2010. Starting in Squamish, we follow the Royal Hudson South to Vancouver along the former BC Rail Line. Then watch as she pulls a memorable two-day excursion from Vancouver to White Rock and return.
