The year 2009 saw the Royal Hudson, #2860, complete three fantastic excursions. Whether it was her rolling along the Southern Railway of BC's rails or pulling the Whistler Mountaineer from North Vancouver to Squamish, 2860 did not fail to impress, and Elevation Media was there every step of the way. With four runs covered in our program, this is a must-see for any Royal Hudson fan.
From Squamish to New Westminster
Before all the action can occur, the Royal Hudson stretches her legs with her first run on the mainline since 2007 as she travels from Squamish along the old BC Rail line before arriving in New Westminster at Southern Railway of BC’s Trapp Yard.
A Royal Cab Ride to Cloverdale
On the first day of excursions on the Southern Railway of BC’s mainline, from New Westminster to Cloverdale and return, we have the privilege of riding in the cab of 2860 to Cloverdale. We catch plenty of action as well throughout the day and even enjoy another brief cab ride in FP7 #4069
Sunday on Southern Railway of BC
We don’t miss a single minute of action on the second excursion to Cloverdale. From departing Trapp Yard to the climb up the Kennedy Hill, arriving and departing Cloverdale, to completing her journey in New Westminster, we capture every moment of this fantastic day.
2860 Leads Whistler Mountaineer
On the opening run of the season for the Whistler Mountaineer, the Royal Hudson leads the train from North Vancouver to Squamish. This is the Royal Hudson’s first excursion with passengers on the old BC Rail line in 10 years.
